Mary Kate Duffy

Since graduating from Millis High School in May of 2004, Mary is currently attending Boston College and is a junior in the School of Nursing.

Aside from school, Mary also makes time to work at a local hospital as an assistant in cesarean sections in labor and delivery.

Outside of school and work, Mary has become very involved with a non-profit organization called “Invisible Children."  “Invisible Children” is a movement to raise awareness and aid the thousands of children in Northern Uganda who are abducted from their homes every night and forced to join Rebel armies. She, along with one of her friends, who was rescued from Northern Uganda as a child, have made it their mission to spread awareness by showing the “Invisible Children” documentary to as many high schools as they can in Massachusetts.

Mary continues to stay in touch with her local DARE program and contributes her time whenever possible. The Peer PLUS program which she founded in her town, is still being run by both the DARE officer and her younger sister, and is attended by over 100 kids each year.
