Kelsey Bryant

I am 17 years old, a senior in High School, and play varsity volleyball and soccer. I love to go four- wheeling and ride my horse Dakota, being that I live in the middle of nowhere!

My DARE officer has been my neighbor for the past several years and I am very close to him and his family through church and school. The DARE program has been a good influence in my life and the lives of my friends. I have learned to stay away from drugs because they take away your friends, dignity and sometimes your life or the lives of others you care about.

I am helping myself stay away from drugs by choosing good friends and staying away from bad influences. Through DARE I have learned how to help others by living free from drugs and violence. I am happy because I am free to live my life to the fullest. I want to share this message with everyone around me.    

Bryant represents Yanceyville Rotary in speech contest

Kelsey Bryant, a sophomore at Bartlett Yancey High School where she plays varsity volleyball and soccer, recently represented the Yanceyville Rotary Club in a speech contest held at Greensboro Technical Community College.

Kelsey is the D.A.R.E. Youth Advisory Board Member representing North Carolina. She will hold that title until she graduates from high school.

Kelsey is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the daughter of Dwayne and Tabby Bryant of the Anderson Community.

She has an older sister, Maghen Brixius (and husband, Jon) who live in Durham, and an older brother, Justin, who is currently serving a two-year mission for the church.

Kelsey's grandparents are Buddy and Betty Cox of Reidsville and Marshall and Hilda Bryant of the Anderson Community.
