D.A.R.E. America is accepting nominations for the 2008 D.A.R.E. Lifetime Achievement, Officer, and Educator of the Year Awards.

Recipients of these prestigious awards will be honored during the 21st Annual D.A.R.E. International Training Conference.

The conference is being held August 12-14, 2008 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Nominees for the awards shall have distinguished themselves in their dedication to D.A.R.E. Their efforts and contributions should demonstrate a commitment to D.A.R.E. beyond the high standard evidenced by others involved in the program.

Nominations will be accomplished by submission of correspondence to the appropriate D.A.R.E. America Regional Director. The nomination documentation must clearly articulate all information to be considered for selection, as well as identification of the nominating party/entity. The correspondence should be no longer than two pages, single-spaced, 12 pt. type. Nominations must be received by a D.A.R.E. America Regional Director on or before June 16, 2008.

Those individuals selected must be available to attend the 21st Annual D.A.R.E. International Conference in order to receive this honor; all costs associated with their attendance will be paid by D.A.R.E. America. A special panel will be convened by D.A.R.E. America to review nomination information and select those to be honored. Selection will be completed by June 30, 2008. Notification of selections will be made through the person or organization that made the nomination.
