For the past eight years the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and DARE America have presented the Law Enforcement Executive of the Year at the National Conference.
This prestigious award recognizes the efforts of a Chief, Sheriff or Superintendent of State Police in promoting and supporting DARE and working with the community to promote a variety of ongoing prevention and education initiatives.
DEA and DARE are sponsoring this award to highlight the importance of law enforcement and prevention working together to make our communities safe and drug free.
The Awardee will receive a $1000 grant to be used for the department's DARE program. The winner and his or her spouse will be invited to attend the National Conference in Orlando, Florida, as the guests of DARE America and DEA.
The submission deadline is May 15, 2009.
