D.A.R.E. Dance Director Jill Roberts

D.A.R.E. America Director receives “The President's Call to Service Award"  

On August 2, 2009 D.A.R.E. America Dance, P.L.U.S. and Youth Advisory Director, Jill Roberts, received the “President's Call to Service Award” from the National Teen Leadership Program. 

California National Guard Demand Reduction Captain Jeff Moore nominated Roberts for her years of service with combating drunk driving, the Georgetown University Dance company, Lombardi Cancer Center (where Roberts created a program to help cancer patients improve quality of life through stretch and movement) and of course, D.A.R.E.

For over ten years Jill has provided direction and leadership to the children of this nation through the D.A.R.E. PLUS program (Play and Learn Under Supervision), the D.A.R.E. Dance Program and The D.A.R.E Youth Advisory Board.          

President Barack Obama personally recognized her efforts in developing and leading these programs which reached many at-need individuals including thousands of children before they were caught in a web of self-destruction.

D.A.R.E. America's Chief Executive Officer Charlie Parsons stated, "This prestigious award presented to Jill Roberts is just another example of the high-caliber of executives at D.A.R.E. America and their dedication to helping children to resist drugs and violence and lead healthy lives."

National Teen Leadership Program is a high-energy program designed to motivate and inspire students to positions of leadership.
