Culture Shock Los Angeles uses urban dance forms to involve underserved populations in the arts, and works to showcase these forms with the same professional dedication and respect given to other styles of dance.

Through development of community partnerships with other art and service organizations, Culture Shock Los Angeles continues to expand its program’s depth and scope, bringing dance and visual arts training to children and adults throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Culture Shock Los Angeles furthers its mission by

• using the talents of its dancers and their interest in the community to establish programs that educate people about the rich cultural history of hip-hop and its relation to other art forms

• to produce and participate in meaningful community outreach events in the Los Angeles area

• to challenge ourselves and our dancers with diverse and inventive performance pieces that draw upon the multi- disciplinary talents of local artists.
